Although some executives have a natural gift for it— for getting the most out of the people who work for them at the same time that they’re helping those people develop skills and advance in their careers—the facility is relatively rare. To find out how effective middle market companies are at performance management, and what they could be doing better, the National Center for the Middle Market conducted a survey of 300 business executives.
