An award-winning teacher and researcher, Howard Klein’s research interests include improving individual and team performance through the use of selection, socialization, commitment, goal setting, performance management, and training. Klein has authored more than 30 articles and book chapters and has made over 45 presentations at scholarly conferences on these and other topics. His research has been published in Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Journal, Industrial Relations, Journal of Applied Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, and Personnel Psychology. Klein teaches courses in recruitment and hiring, training and development, introductory human resource management, and research methods at the undergraduate, masters, and doctoral levels. He serves on several editorial review boards as well as the executive committee for the Human Resources Division of the Academy of Management and the board of directors of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). Klein is founder and site coordinator for the Human Resources Instructional eXchange, a web-based clearinghouse for teaching and learning about human resource management. He holds an MBA and PhD from Michigan State University and a BA from University of Minnesota.
